THE TRUTH ABOUT HALLOWEEN

Many unaware Christians and just good moral people celebrate
holidays such as Halloween without thinking about their origins or the
true meaning of what they are doing. I hope that in this tract that I
will disclose some of the history behind the Halloween celebration that
will be a help to the young and old alike. To most people Halloween is
a lot of fun and excitement. To many people it is simply just a time to
pull cranks and to dress up in costumes to go out on the town trick or
treating. Is it a TRICK or a
TREAT? You decide. Most people seem
unaware of, and some even seem unconcerned about all the
EVIL THAT IS BEHIND HALLOWEEN! They
are persuaded in their minds that it is just a lot of fun; but to
glorify foolishness which the very thought of is SIN in the name of fun
for the children, comes way short of making it right and it certainly
doesn’t change the consequences any. For thousands of young children
and teenagers, the warning in this tract comes way too late.
Many people say that it is okay to let our children dress up
as ghosts, goblins, witches and monsters and go out on the town. I
strictly disagree. There is more to celebrating Halloween than meets
the eye. It is impossible to separate
Halloween from Druids and their cult because they started the “holiday.”
Several hundred years before the birth of Jesus Christ, a
people called the Celts lived in what is known as France, Germany,
England, Scotland, and Ireland. The Celtic priest were called Druids
and were the overseers over this ancient religion. The Celtic people
were over the years overcome by the Romans. Greek and Roman writings
about the Celtic people and the Druids can be traced back to Caesar and
to 200 years before Christ. These records often tell of frequent and
barbaric HUMAN SACRIFICES. They tell
of the Druids’ use of magic to raise storms, lay curses on places, kill
by the use of spells, and of many other ungodly things that ALL TRUE
CHRISTIANS STAND FIRMLY AGAINST. Most of the people who are reading
this are probably thinking that all of this came to a stop hundreds of
years ago. I wish it had, but the sad truth is that it didn’t.
Halloween is not a treat-Halloween
is a trick to get you and your precious children more
involved in the Druids’ Satanic Worship.
A few years ago many people could laugh off the traditions of
Halloween as just being a lot of fun but not anymore. Devil worship and
Satanism is having a field day on the ordinary, common young people all
over the world. The devil is running out of time and he is working
harder to stop the Saints of God and our children. I remind you that
the devil came for to kill, steal and to destroy and this is exactly
what he is doing under the cloak of a lot of fun and observing
Halloween. Around AD 47, Rome finally defeated the Druids in England
and outlawed human sacrifices. The last few Druids that were left fled
underground. Today a growing number of
people claim to be direct Druid descent and claim to STILL PRACTICE
THEIR RELIGION, INCLUDING HUMAN SACRIFICES. Those in England
still perform ceremonies at Stonehenge and they are being performed in
covens all over the United States of America. Satan is dead serious
about his fun and games and it is dangerous to allow the seemingly
harmlessness of Halloween to blind us the treachery of the satanic
influence. November 1st was the Celtic New Year. October 31st
was celebrated by the Druids with many human sacrifices and a big
festival honoring and worshiping their sun god and Samhain, the lord of
the dead. They believed that the lost souls of those who died during
the year were in a place of torment, and will be released only if
Samhain was pleased with their sacrifices.
The Druids also originated the custom of
Trick or Treating when they visited
farmers to collect money for the gods. If the farmer gave, he would be
blessed and prosper in the coming year. If they did not give, then the
gods would get revenge. It was also in medieval Europe that black cats
were sacrificed to the sun god because the people believed that they
were witches. In many areas the Roman Catholic Church has a mixture of
religion. Instead of changing its converts, it converts to them and
just mixes another religion right in with the rest of it.
This is exactly what happened with
Halloween. There are Irish records that tell of the fascination
of the Catholic monks toward the powerful druids’ holiday into the
church. He made the following proclamation, “they are to no longer to
sacrifice beast to the devil, BUT they may kill them for food to the
praise of God, and give thanks to the giver of bounty.” The same
religion BUT just under a different name.
It was Pope Gregory III who moved the church festival of October 31st
to November 1st and called it ALL HALLOWS or ALL SAINTS DAY.
It was Pope Gregory IV that decreed that the day was to be a universal
church observance. The term
Halloween comes from All Hallows Eve and the Church originally chose
October 31st because it was already associated with a
thronging of the spirits of the dead.
In ancient times people greatly feared the spirits of dead
people. They thought that these spirits would harm or even kill them if
they didn’t give and offer sacrifices to Samhain. This is the
origin of the Jack-O-Lantern.
They would carve DEMON FACES into pumpkins and large turnips and would
place a candle in them to keep the evil spirits away from their home.
The tradition of bobbing for apples and
giving out nuts came from the Roman addition of the Druids New Year’s
Eve. The Romans worshiped Pomona who was considered the goddess
of the harvest. They simply combined their
harvest festival to Halloween. You may be thinking that all of
this is just a fairy tale but it is all a fact of history that anyone
with just a little effort could look up in the local library. You may
think that the Druids died out along ago but that simply isn’t true.
They are still around and they are still active. They continue secretly
today with much of their same traditions. More and more in recent years
we are finding out the hard way and far too late for many that Halloween
is not really the treat that it was supposed to be.
HALLOWEEN IS A TRICK OF THE DEVIL!
In recent years the fun and excitement of a Halloween night out on the
town has turned into local sadness for many of our youth. The
widespread problem of harmful substances such as razor blades, drugs,
poisons, needles, implanted in apples and other Halloween Treats is NO
ACCIDENT! Besides it’s pagan heritage,
Halloween is one of the holy nights of
witchcraft. Throughout the world thousands of devil
worshipers meet in covens on Oct. 32 to conduct and perform weird and
strange rituals involving every conceivable sacrilege. Testimonies of
several EX-Satanist show that these precious children that were killed
and injured by the devils treats were really sacrifices to Satan
(or Samhain). Their ungodly, devil
worship still continues today in every area of the country.
Satanist throughout the whole world still
continues to perform human sacrifices on Halloween night.
Many times they are using our
children! IS THIS
SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN?
The founding fathers of America
refused to permit Halloween celebrations
to be observed because they knew even
then that it was an ungodly, pagan holiday. Halloween was
not widely observed in America until 1900. In the 1840’s
there was a terrible potato famine in Ireland, which caused thousands of
Catholic Irish people to come to America. Sadly, they brought Halloween
with them! It is past time for the Holiness people and good moral
people everywhere to stand up for God and our children and end our part
in the ungodly celebration. Many churches still hold Halloween
parties each year for their young people. You can’t hide behind the
excuse that you didn’t know because
NOW YOU KNOW!
The real Church of God still stands against all such ungodly activities
as the Halloween holiday. We are still to “Abstain from all
appearance of evil (I Thess. 5:22). How can Churches and parents
continue to participate in Halloween’s pagan traditions of black cats
and evil spirits and uphold at the same time the Blood stained banner of
a resurrected Saviour who gave His very life to save us and deliver us
from the very hell that Halloween symbolizes? Halloween in reality is
very far from the fun and games that the devil has got most peoples
minds on. They really are just a smokescreen to cover up his wicked
work that is taking place everyday but especially every October 31st.
The war between sin and righteousness is far too serious to make
light of it once a year on Halloween thru activities that glorify the
devil. I would to God that no church or Christian parent would
purposely expose their children to evil, but the good motives that you
may be hiding behind don’t change the facts that the symbols of
Halloween speak of spells and trickery, mystery and death.
PLEASE DON’T BE DECEIVED!
These glorify evil and the devil, not our Lord Jesus Christ, and they
have no place in the life of a born again Christian.
The truth about Halloween is that there is
nothing holy about it. There is really not any treat. It is all the
devils trick.
